In a shocking incident from Punjab’s Ludhiana, Punjabi singer Inder Kaur, also known as Yashinder Kaur, was found dead in the Neelo canal days after she reportedly went missing. Police recovered her body on Tuesday morning, nearly six days after her disappearance.
According to the family, the 29-year-old singer had left her home on May 13 to buy household items but never returned. After repeated attempts to contact her failed, the family filed a missing complaint and began searching for her.
Family members have alleged that Inder Kaur was abducted at gunpoint and was facing pressure for marriage from a man known to her. They claimed she had refused the proposal, after which the situation escalated.
During the investigation, police identified a suspect named Sukhwinder Singh, originally from Moga and currently living in Canada. The family alleged that the accused was already married and continued to pressure the singer for marriage. They also claimed he fled abroad after the incident.
Police have registered a case and started a detailed investigation. Officials say all possible angles, including kidnapping and personal dispute, are being examined.
