Melody Gift Moment Sends Parle Industries Shares Soaring After Modi-Meloni Video Goes Viral

Shares of Parle Industries surged nearly 5% on Tuesday after Prime Minister Narendra Modi gifted a pack of Melody toffees to Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni during his Italy visit, sparking a massive buzz on social media.

The cheerful moment quickly went viral online as internet users linked it to the famous “#Melodi” trend — a nickname often used by social media users while referring to Modi and Meloni together.

In the viral video, PM Modi was seen handing over a packet of Melody candies to Meloni. Reacting to the gift, Meloni later shared the clip on X and wrote, “Thank you for the gift.” She was also heard joking in the video, saying, “He gifted… a very, very good toffee,” leaving both leaders laughing.

Following the viral clip, Parle Industries stock jumped to Rs 5.25 during intraday trading. The share has also gained around 7% in the last one week. However, despite the latest rally, the stock remains under pressure in the longer term, falling nearly 41% in three months, 46% in six months, and over 68% in the past year.

The viral interaction also brought Melody candies back into online conversations, with users sharing memes, nostalgic posts, and reactions across social media platforms.

Market experts say Dalal Street often reacts strongly to viral trends, celebrity mentions, and public attention connected to listed companies — especially low-priced stocks. The sudden spotlight on Melody appeared to trigger fresh buying interest in Parle Industries shares during Tuesday’s trading session.
