4.6-Magnitude Earthquake Jolts Maharashtra’s Hingoli, No Major Damage Reported

A series of earthquake tremors struck Maharashtra’s Hingoli district in the early hours of Thursday, triggering panic among residents. The strongest tremor, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, was recorded at approximately 1:37 AM. According to officials, the epicentre was located near Pangra Shinde village in Vasmat taluka. People in several villages rushed out of their homes as a precaution after feeling the tremors.

Following the initial quake, additional tremors were reported at 2:15 AM, 2:17 AM, 2:48 AM, and 2:50 AM. Minor cracks were reported in a few houses, but no significant structural damage has been confirmed. The tremors were also felt in neighbouring districts, including Udgir in Latur and parts of Parbhani, causing concern among local residents.

Authorities have confirmed that no casualties or major property damage have been reported so far. The district administrations of Hingoli and Parbhani are closely monitoring the situation and assessing the impact of the tremors. Officials have urged citizens to remain calm, follow safety guidelines, and avoid spreading or believing unverified rumours.
