Severe Heatwave Continues Across Delhi-NCR, Relief Likely Soon

People across Delhi-NCR and several parts of North India continue to struggle under intense heatwave conditions as temperatures remain dangerously high. In many areas, the temperature has reportedly touched 44 to 45 degrees Celsius, making daily life extremely difficult for residents.

Scorching sunlight and hot winds have forced many people to stay indoors during daytime hours. Roads and markets in several parts of Delhi-NCR have witnessed reduced public movement due to the extreme weather conditions.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised people to avoid stepping outside during peak afternoon hours and to remain hydrated. Health experts have also warned citizens about the risk of heatstroke, dehydration and other heat-related illnesses.

Hospitals across Delhi and nearby regions are reportedly witnessing an increase in cases related to extreme heat exposure. Elderly people, children and outdoor workers are considered the most vulnerable during the ongoing heatwave.

Meanwhile, the weather department has predicted possible rainfall and thunderstorms in Delhi-NCR and nearby regions from May 28 onward. Officials believe the change in weather could bring temporary relief from the severe heat conditions.

Strong winds and light rain are expected to reduce temperatures slightly over the coming days. However, authorities have advised people to continue taking precautions until weather conditions improve completely.

The ongoing heatwave has once again raised concerns over climate change and rising temperatures across several parts of India. Experts say such extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and intense every year.
