Prime Minister Narendra Modi has commenced a three-nation diplomatic tour with Indonesia as the first destination, aiming to reinforce India’s strategic engagement in the Indo-Pacific region. During his visit to Jakarta, Modi will meet Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto to discuss ways to expand cooperation in defence, maritime security, trade, investment, digital innovation, energy, and critical minerals. The visit is expected to further strengthen the long-standing Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries.

India and Indonesia are likely to enhance collaboration across several sectors, with defence and maritime security expected to remain central to the discussions. The leaders will also review progress in bilateral trade, connectivity, healthcare, education, and technology while exploring new opportunities to deepen economic ties and regional cooperation. The visit underscores India’s continued commitment to strengthening partnerships with key Indo-Pacific nations.
After concluding his engagements in Indonesia, Prime Minister Modi will travel to Australia for the Annual Leaders’ Summit with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese before heading to New Zealand. The three-country visit is aimed at expanding India’s diplomatic outreach, promoting regional stability, enhancing economic cooperation, and reaffirming its vision for a free, open, inclusive, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region.
