One Dead, Three Injured After BEST Bus Loses Control in Mumbai’s Dadar

A major road accident took place in Mumbai’s busy Dadar area after a BEST bus reportedly went out of control and crashed into a car and a two-wheeler near Veer Kotwal Garden, close to Plaza Cinema. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. during peak traffic hours, causing panic among commuters, motorists, and pedestrians in the crowded locality. The impact of the collision left several people trapped and disrupted traffic movement in the area.

Emergency response teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade and local police rushed to the scene and immediately launched rescue operations. Four victims were rescued and taken to Lokmanya Tilak Municipal General Hospital, commonly known as Sion Hospital. Doctors at the hospital confirmed that an unidentified man, believed to be between 22 and 25 years old, was declared dead on arrival. The accident site was secured while rescue personnel worked to assist the injured and clear the damaged vehicles.

Three other victims sustained serious injuries and are currently undergoing treatment. Among them, 25-year-old Rishabh Gupta suffered a severe head injury and remains in critical condition. Satish Waghambare, a 48-year-old BEST conductor, sustained injuries to his chest and hip, while 50-year-old Mahesh Doiphode suffered a shoulder injury and severe blunt trauma. Police have launched an investigation to determine whether the crash was caused by a mechanical failure in the bus or driver negligence. Authorities later removed the wreckage and debris to restore normal traffic flow in the busy Dadar market area.
