Nagpur woman alleges rape, blackmail, forced conversion; three accused booked

A married woman from Nagpur’s Sonegaon area has filed a serious complaint accusing three men of sexual exploitation, blackmail, extortion, and attempts to force her to convert her religion. Based on her complaint, Sonegaon Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.

According to the FIR, the woman alleged that one of the accused, who was her former classmate, allegedly drugged her and took her to a hotel, where he sexually assaulted her. She further claimed that the accused and his associates repeatedly exploited her by threatening to make an objectionable video viral. The woman also alleged that she was pressured to change her religion and was extorted of more than ₹3 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Ayyaz Taj Madare, Ameen Sheikh, and Hazrat Maulana, all residents of Kalmeshwar taluka. Police have arrested two of the accused, while a search is underway to trace the third suspect, who remains absconding. A case has been registered under relevant sections related to rape, attempted forced religious conversion, and provisions of the Maharashtra Prevention of Black Magic Act. Further investigation is in progress.
