Indian Air Force Lifts Sukhna Lake Water To Douse Kasauli Forest Fire

The Indian Air Force launched a major firefighting operation to control the massive forest fire raging in the Kasauli region of Himachal Pradesh. Using helicopters equipped with special buckets, the Air Force lifted water from Sukhna Lake and carried out aerial water drops over the affected forest areas in an effort to contain the rapidly spreading flames.

Officials said the wildfire had intensified due to dry weather conditions and strong winds, making firefighting operations extremely difficult. Despite the challenging situation, Indian Air Force crews continued multiple sorties to prevent the fire from spreading further into nearby residential and forest regions. Videos and visuals from the operation showed helicopters repeatedly collecting water from the lake and dropping it over burning hillsides.

The Indian Air Force confirmed that its personnel remain fully committed to controlling the fire and supporting local authorities in the rescue and relief efforts. The operation has been widely praised for its quick response and coordination, while officials continue to monitor the situation closely to avoid further damage to the forest area.
