India’s biggest medical entrance examination, NEET-UG 2026, has once again landed in controversy after serious allegations of a paper leak and security breach surfaced across the country.
This year, nearly 2.4 million students appeared for the examination, making it one of the world’s largest entrance tests. However, a handwritten “guess paper” circulating online reportedly matched several actual exam questions, triggering outrage among students and parents.
The controversy has now taken a tragic turn. According to multiple media reports, at least 4 NEET aspirants allegedly died by suicide following the cancellation and uncertainty surrounding the examination. Cases have been reported from Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh.
Reports suggest the students were under extreme mental stress after the exam controversy escalated. One student from Rajasthan was reportedly expecting over 650 marks before the issue surfaced.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has denied that the entire paper was leaked through its official system. However, the Education Ministry has admitted that there was a breach linked to the examination process.
Meanwhile, students across the country remain divided. While some are demanding a complete re-examination to ensure fairness, others argue that conducting the test again would unfairly impact honest candidates who prepared for months.
The matter is now under investigation by the CBI and several other agencies as pressure continues to mount on authorities over transparency and student safety.
