A 17-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly gang-raped inside a moving sleeper bus while travelling from Noida towards Delhi, police said on Monday, August 31. According to the allegations, the bus driver and conductor offered the minor a lift during heavy rain in the Delhi-NCR region.
Police said the girl was allegedly assaulted inside the moving bus before being abandoned near Kashmere Gate ISBT. The incident came to light after the girl approached the authorities, following which police initiated an investigation into the alleged sexual assault.
The driver and conductor have been arrested in connection with the case. The sleeper bus has also been seized and sent for forensic examination as investigators work to collect evidence and establish the sequence of events.
