Rajpura, Punjab | September 1, 2026: In an initiative promoting community well-being, the 108 Ambulance Service crew organised a plantation drive at Civil Hospital, Rajpura. The drive aimed to encourage people to recognise the importance of trees and contribute towards creating healthier surroundings.
As part of the initiative, the 108 Ambulance crew planted various saplings across the premises of Civil Hospital Rajpura. The team also distributed saplings among visitors at the hospital, encouraging them to take the initiative forward by planting and caring for trees in their own surroundings.
The plantation drive was carried out by the 108 Ambulance team, with the participation of Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) Harmeet Singh and Gaurav, and Pilots Daler Singh and Tajinderpal Sharma. The initiative was supported by Dr Karan, Orthopaedics, Civil Hospital Rajpura, along with CL Amandeep Singh. Dr Jaswinder Singh appreciated the efforts made by the 108 Ambulance crew and their contribution towards the community.
Speaking on the occasion, 108 Project Head Manish Batra, said: “Planting trees is a meaningful step towards creating healthier surroundings. Initiatives like this encourage people to understand the importance of trees and inspire them to play their part in caring for nature. We appreciate the efforts of the 108 Ambulance crew in taking this initiative and setting a positive example of community participation.”
The plantation drive reflects the 108 Ambulance Service’s commitment to supporting community welfare beyond emergency medical response. Through such initiatives, the service continues to encourage social responsibility and positive community participation.
