Rishikesh Bungee Jump Turns Fatal for 21-Year-Old Dehradun Student

A 21-year-old student from Dehradun, identified as Lakshya Rastogi, died shortly after completing a bungee jump at an adventure sports site near Rishikesh in Uttarakhand’s Pauri Garhwal district. According to reports, Rastogi successfully completed the jump but began experiencing severe chest and abdominal pain along with breathing difficulties soon after returning to the platform.

Family members initially took him to a nearby lodge at Ramkund, hoping he would recover after some rest. However, his condition rapidly worsened, and he lost consciousness. He was immediately rushed to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Pali, where doctors found no pulse and attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), but were unable to revive him.

Medical experts suspect that the death may have been caused by a cardiac arrest or a syncope attack triggered by the intense physical and emotional stress associated with the activity. Authorities, including Pauri Garhwal police, have launched an investigation into the incident. The tragedy has renewed concerns over safety standards, emergency response systems, and health screening procedures at adventure sports facilities across the region. The exact cause of death will be determined after the postmortem examination report is released.
